There is a small cove in Tiji, Japan, known as the ‘Killing Cove’ where thousands of dolphins and small whales are herded and killed by fisherman every year. Recently James Pribram was featured on CNN, in the Men’s Journal and other publications for paddling with fellow surfer Dave Ratovich, actresses Hayden Panettiere and Isabell Lucas and half a dozen other activists to stage a protest and to bring worldwide attention to the practice.
“It was during my time in Japan at the “Killing Cove that the ECO-Warrior project truly became real to me. I had the realization that some people were very angry because I was standing up for what I believed in, and I could be detained, or arrested, or worse, killed. I decided that it was worth the risk.”
